To Eat or Not To Eat

Over the past few months I've been on a Lifestyle Change, not a diet.  I've had great success both with weight loss and overall health.  Of course, since I've had such great results I wanted to share with everyone.  This included my parents.  They are in their 70's, have gotten quite chubby and with that has come high blood pressure (nearly stroke level w/medication),  high cholesterol and thyroid problems.  Here is where the frustration begins.

First off, between myself and my husband we have lost almost 40 pounds since August.  I no longer need anxiety meds or migraine medication.  So, I know that I have seen the difference in health results from changing what you put in your body.  I have talked to so many people with the same issues as my parents that have seen unbelievable results in their health, so I definitely wanted this for them too.

Mom, she is doing awesome with almost 4 inches overall lost.  Dad, well that's where the title comes from.  In 2 months the scale and measurements haven't moved.  He was frustrated and so was I.  So, this week we sat down and I said, "Let's go through your day and see what we need to change. What do you eat for breakfast?"  He says, "Well, every morning I have 4 pieces of toast with butter and brown sugar.  I do my exercises, skip lunch and if your mom doesn't feel like cooking supper I eat a bowl of cereal and bag of popcorn."  Do you see where I'm going with this?  This is not good for anyone.  I took a deep breath and said, "Dad you have to eat or your body goes into starvation mode and protects itself.  You have to eat, you need protein and 3 meals a day.  Brown sugar toast is not a meal."  Well, dad is the dad and doesn't care to be told what to do.  He simply replies, "If you don't eat, you don't gain weight.  It's simple math."

This weekend we are going to the store and he is picking out food to eat, that he will eat even if I have to go over there and fix it for him and sit at the table til he's done.

I'm hoping with adding food to his supplements he too will start to see a change.  Next week will definitely be interesting and I can't wait to update you on his progress.

Oh Yes I Can

The last 5 weeks have been great.  I'm so glad I took the 1st step even though my hopes weren't high.  I have tried starving myself to lose weight and of course that didn't work.  I've tried starving myself and exercising and while both of those might have dropped some weight I sure didn't feel good.

I feel like a new person.  I'm down 13 pounds and 4 inches.  Migraine free, energy to burn and a calm mind. I still eat whatever I want but I just can't eat the amount I did 5 weeks ago.  I go far a walk/jog at my pace at least 3 times a week and it seems like every time I feel like going a little further.

My husband was told 6 weeks ago he was 44 pounds overweight with the age of a 65 yr old man.  He is 39.  He was told there was so much weight on his stomach he was a candidate for a stroke or heart attack.  So, we got started the next week.  He is now down 14 pounds and 3 inches.

If your body is hungry to be healthy you have to give it healthy things. These vitamin supplements are designed to work slowly through your system so you can absorb it, rather than it being flushed out of your system.  They will boost your energy, curb your appetite, help regulate blood sugar levels and rev up your metabolism.  It's amazing what happens when we give our bodies what they need to function properly.

I encourage each of you to consider the following:
Are you tired?
Do you wake up tired?
Are you overweight?
Do you suffer from health problems and know you aren't as healthy as you should be?
If you can say yes to any of these then why not jump on board with me and get started?  All of these products are all natural, organic.  Not to mention you have a 100% money back guarantee.

Do You Suffer From Problem Skin?

Do you suffer from dry skin, acne, rosacea or eczema?  Have you tried the name brand acne treatments only to find your face becomes too dry and irritated, stinging and burning?

Most people with oily, acne prone skin can't understand why you would put oils on oily skin.  First off, oil is bad for your skin if it is dirty oil that clogs your pores and creates more acne. When you use oils that are nourishing and that are full of vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants you are not only cleaning off the soiled oil and dirt but allowing these good ingredients to soak into your skin.  They are meant to be absorbed by the skin so you can get all of the benefits.
Dry Skin, Acne Treatment Cleanser
This Dry Skin Acne Treatment Cleanser is awesome!  It offers so many things that your skin is dying for.  Its great for problem skin and is a great moisturizer for dry skin.

Not only is it lightly scented with Lavender and Chamomile but those are both so good for your skin.  Did you know Chamomile Oil nourishes dry, itchy skin and has been used in the treatment of fading acne scars?

I love Flax Seed Oil because it is high in Omega 3, which is essential for normal skin.  It helps lock in moisture to keep your skin from becoming dry and dull.  When your dealing with problem skin it helps minimize redness due to acne, eczema or rosacea.  Its also been used to help minimize fine lines.

Then we have the beauty secret must have - Organic Olive Oil.  Although lathering up with olive oil to get soft skin is not an attractive thought, it does have so many benefits.  When you mix it properly with other ingredients its not like you are rubbing oil on your skin. The antioxidants in olive oil work to neutralize free radicals which are caused by the exposure to everyday living.  It is also high in Vitamin A, which helps to fight wrinkles.

Now to the Vitamin E.  Vitamin E helps reduce the appearance of scarring, age spots, helps maintain the skins oil balance.  Vitamin E will give your skin that soft and supple look we all want.

Give natural a try if you aren't getting the results you want.  Try some today and take 10% off with coupon code Thanks10

Organic Facial Cleanser

Lavender and Rose Facial Cleanser
I'm starting to introduce my skin care line.  All of my products are 100% all natural, 100% vegan.
Today I'm introducing - Lavender and Rose Facial Cleanser.  This is perfect for all skin types.  It moisturizes and nourishes dry skin but is still great for balancing oily and acne prone skin.
Grape See Oil is easily absorbed by the skin, another perk of going all natural.  Only natural substances can be absorbed by the skin.  Grape Seed Oil is mildly astringent meaning a toner designed to penetrate through the pores to constrict them, removing excess oil, dirt and dead skin.
Lavender Essential Oil is an anti-inflammatory which is great for those with problem skin like acne.  It helps reduce red and blotchy skin so you can have a more even colored skin tone.  It is also an antibacterial, so it helps keep bacteria from building on your skin, which helps reduce the chance of an acne breakout.
Rose Essential Oil is the Queen of essential oils.  Rose is one of the most loved scents and has so many beneficial properties that it would take me all day to tell you all of them.  Rose is an astringent and is a must in your skin care products.  Rose oil refreshes dry skin but is mild enough to not irritate sensitive skin.
I really love this stuff!  There is no alcohol so you don't get that cool, tingling burn that you do with some over the counter cleansers.  My skin is basically normal but more oily in the T-zone area.  My skin is so soft with a healthy glow.
If your looking for something healthy, that your skin will truly benefit from - then this is what you need!  Take a look at your facial cleanser does it have any alcohol in it?  If it does its drying out your skin.  Try All-Natural and be good to the skin you're in!  Order some today and take 10% off using the coupon code Thanks10

Whats on Your Skin

Shea Body Butter
Everyone these days are trying to better there health.  Are you watching what you eat, reading labels and counting calories?  Exercising more?  What about your skin, are you reading the labels of your favorite skin care or lotion?  Not many of us do.  I know I didn't think twice about it before I started my own cosmetics and skin care shop.  I love lotion that can not only smell wonderful but does what it is suppose to.  If you have dry skin, Shea Body Butter is what you need, but you need a healthy, natural lotion.  My Shea Butter is full of beautiful whipped organic Shea Butter, Vitamin E and Sweet Almond Oil.  Can't go wrong there, unless you have an allergy to nuts, then you may not want to risk the Almond Oil.
Let me tell you the ingredients from my favorite night time cream BEFORE I realized what I was putting on my skin.

  • Glycerin which is ok if it is plant based.  Animal based has been researched to have cancer agents.  It's called a "polyhydric alcohol" which is a substance that is extremely drying to the skin, which is used in lotion that is suppose to nourish our dry skin.
  • Cetyl Alcohol and all alcohol is drying to the skin
  • Methylparaben, Propylparaben, and Ethylparaben these are parabens that are used to extend shelf life of products.  They can cause many allergic reactions and skin rashes.
  • Mineral Oil is a common ingredient in commercial lotions, skin care and baby products.  Mineral Oil is not a natural ingredient it is a byproduct that is produced by man.  In short this oil cannot be absorb by your skin.  It clogs your pores which allows for moisture and bacteria to breed.  Your skin can't breath and the end result will be skin irritation and acne.
We all want that youthful soft glowing skin, don't we?  So many products out there offer just that.  Here is one problem:  the ingredients.  Most products that promise the sun and moon are full of chemicals.  Take some time and read what your putting on your skin.  If you can't read the label you might want to try all-natural.  Be good to the skin your in!

Welcome

I would like to start by introducing myself.  My name is Amee and I am the mother of 2 boys.  As a stay at home mother I began to feel as if there wasn't much in my life that was just about me.

Brass Buttercup Glitter
I started making my own mineral makeup so I could have gifts for birthdays and holidays.  It wasn't long before I realized I had gone overboard and had way too much stuff.  I took a shot on Etsy and found that I could sell my hobby.
Firecracker

I decided one day to invite my sister Lisa into my creations.  I needed new ideas and I was drawing a blank.  Her fresh look on things was just what was needed.  We now have incorporated bath and body products and skin care products to our Etsy shop and have our own website visualeyescosmetics.indiemade.com  All of our ingredients are carefully researched.  We sell only all-natural, organic and vegan products.

I have learned so much about running my own online store and I can't wait to give you some tips that have helped me.
